SG2010 Curved Folding cluster documentation

OUTPUT
There was so much output during the 4 day workshop - each participant documented their workflow, showing some of the processes they used.
METHODOLOGY
The design methodology was set to be reactive, rather than let participants 'design' -this abstraction gave rise to some outlandish forms as a result.
FABRICATION
Other participants concentrated on fabrication. Various types of perforation, material, machines, scanners were used - all adding to the huge array of tools at our disposal for procesessing sheet materials.
SIMULATION
Long hours were spent making GC fold using the quad mesh approach, as well as getting our heads round formatting for TT's Rigid Origami Simulator (you need AutoCAD), various Grasshopper tools appeared from our group - and others. Also Evolute software now folds nicely. Simon and Rob had a geometry face-off - great viewing - will upload this soon.

This diagram sums up the work flow - many routes can be taken through. Each repetition of the workflow brings new forms, scales, materials, processes. See below for output.
