Unfortunately I couldn’t make it but an ex-colleague presented one of my projects with Anish Kapoor. I am currently working on a number of pavilions and installations in which I am investigating folding combined with principles of adaptability. I look forward to chatting to you about these. Iam currently working with Dan Piker's latest version of Kangaroo.
Thanks this is a great site and a great group, I have always been very interested in robotics but it was when I found Self-reconfiguring modular robotics I really got involved, it is so fascinating!
I am researching computational origami to use as skins and membranes in Self-reconfiguring modular robotics I will come back soon with lots of questions!
I found interesting portable cut and grooving machine for gypsum boards. It is for straight grooving/cut with manual operation. It has potential to be digitally controlled for curved grooving/cut. http://www.mutoheng.com/~solution/plaster/
Hi Gregory, Let me know when you get to SE1! At the moment I am looking at folding materials from a different viewpoint than yourself - how to add enough stiffness and compressive strength to fabric so that it can hold its own form. I have been starching, laminating and pleating, slowly increasing the scale in the hope that it can be a 1:1 architectural structure. Currently it is handmade rather than digital. We will see!
what do you need?
indeed i am supposed to look those files, because the ones on the web are not the ones i made. we got some trouble, then boss wanted to do himself. so my grasshopper definition was different.

This new product is intended to take the print virtualisation technology to next level and aid in the design of packaging and will also simulate printed effects such as foils, varnish, embossing all in realtime as it is designed in Creative Suite.
The output is our own 3D format based on realvue3D technology which can be viewed with full interactivity and 3d annotations directly within any web browser.
FFEI will be previewing the product at Birmingham NEC - IPEX 2010 from 18th-25th May. But the product will not be on sale at this time.
There's not too much there I know...most of my card folding has been used in model-making of products in my previous job, using foam core and sheet card to create curved signage...it's more exciting than it sounds!
I hope to get some of these up on your site as soon as I can. Really enjoyed your talk and hearing your approach to the new technique you're developing, hoping to show a few previous employers the photos I took as they will be interested for their work (www.fwdesign.com)
Thanky for that.
I would really appreciate it if you could meet me to briefly explain the process undertaken by you. (Similar to what you showed at your lecture) with paper and how it works with the software.
It would really aid in my project research.
thanks for the comment and thanks for the invitation! this is a great community.
i literally just got craftrobo. i'll try to put more work out there soon.

Hi Gregory,
Can you help me with a .dxf/flat pattern of the white table in your Robofold album?
Will be highly appreciated!

any detail about tomorrow workshop at DHUB ?
Thanks Greg,
I'm awaiting some new thin magnesium sheet from MgF Magnesium Flachprodukte GmbH and love to get inspiration for folded jewel-style constructions.

We have previously released product called Realvue3D which provides realistic 3D simulations of printed books.
